Why will there be yet another website I have to go to in order to get licensed?

This is the first in many steps we’re taking so in near future you will only have one website to complete all processes. With many agencies and many different technologies involved, it is going to take some time to consolidate and integrate those systems. That said, getting this done is one of the Bowser Administrations top priorities for businesses.

When do you expect the DC Business Portal to be completely finished?

In short, we will never be finished making enhancements, adding new features and streamlining the experience based on your feedback.

I don’t see the type of business I want to start in the list? What do I do?

To start, we only used a select number of licenses for this prototype. However, the licenses appearing make of 90 percent of all licenses issued. If your business type is not yet included, visit https://dlcp.dc.gov for more information on how to get started.
